Blenheim is the only non-royal palace in the country. It is the ancestral home of the Churchill family, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. 2024 marks the 150th anniversary of Winston’s birth there. It is also the place he proposed to Clementine in its wondrous gardens, which are all part of this fantastic trip. Blenheim was given to Churchill’s ancestor after his stunning battle win at Blenheim in 1704.It is stupendous in its opulence, arguably outstripping Buckingham, Windsor or even Kensington Palaces. Sarah Churchill, the Duke’s wife, was made famous in The Favourite with her dalliance with Queen Anne and spared nothing when building and dressing it.t is about 20 minutes from Oxford, and a day trip can be completed with a pub lunch at one of the villages between Oxford and Blenheim. It takes just over 2 hours for both places from central London
We offer everything from a lunchtime walk to an afternoon Corporate extravaganza seeing the City from the River.
